LEATHER ORIGIN:

Horween Leather Company was founded in 1905. For more than 100 years and five generationsHorween’s goal has been to make the world’s best leather. Making the best means doing lots of little things right. It means never mistaking fastest or cheapest with the best. It means always using formulas that do not cut corners, and choosing components strictly for their quality. Horween Dublin is veg tan infused with a rich blend of natural waxes and then hot plated. It has all the supple characteristics of Essex with a darker surface color that showcases the natural grain.

A NOTE ON ILLINI LATIGO RUSTIC LEATHER:

Illini Latigo is produced using Horweens classic Latigo formulation and is a combination tanned leather with a full vegetable re-tan. After the tanning process, the leather is hot stuffed with a proprietary blend of waxes that nourishes the leather.

Illini Latigo will have a firmer temper as compared to our standard Latigo line. Characterized by a beautiful tight grain, the leather is popular with makers that produce bags, strips, saddle strings, belts and other small leather goods.
